Water cooling provides more efficient heat dissipation, keeping high-performance components like CPUs and GPUs cool even under heavy load. It often operates more quietly, as the fans can run slower while still achieving the same cooling performance. Additionally, it offers aesthetic design options, especially with custom loops featuring unique designs and RGB lighting.

Alphacool places great emphasis on sustainability and the durability of its products. Our liquid cooling solutions are made from high-quality materials such as copper and brass, ensuring long-lasting performance and efficient cooling.

To conserve resources, we support the Right to Repair – many of our products are modular, allowing individual components to be easily replaced or repaired. Additionally, we offer B-stock products, which are fully functional and tested but have only cosmetic defects. This gives these items a second chance instead of being discarded, helping to reduce waste and conserve resources.

Through these efforts, Alphacool actively contributes to sustainability without compromising on quality and performance.

Alphacool AIO (All-in-One) liquid coolers are designed to be maintained and repaired rather than replaced after a certain period. Unlike many traditional AIOs, our models are modular, allowing components such as tubes, coolant, fittings, or even the pump to be replaced.

This supports the Right to Repair and ensures that an Alphacool AIO doesn't need to be discarded if a single component fails. This significantly extends the lifespan of the product and helps conserve resources.

With this sustainable design, Alphacool offers a repairable alternative to conventional AIOs, which are often designed as disposable products.

You can easily check the compatibility of a GPU water cooler using our GPU configurator on the Alphacool website.

Here’s how the GPU configurator works:

  1. Select the chip – Choose the manufacturer of your graphics chip (e.g., Nvidia or AMD) and the corresponding chip.
  2. Choose the series – Select the appropriate graphics card series (e.g., RTX 4080, RX 7900 XT).
  3. Select the manufacturer – Pick the manufacturer of your graphics card (e.g., ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte).
  4. Choose the exact GPU – Find your specific model and get a list of compatible water coolers.

!! Important: If no water cooler is displayed, it means we currently do not offer a compatible cooler for this model.

Yes, all Alphacool radiators use standardized G1/4" fittings, which are compatible with most fittings, connectors, and tubes from other manufacturers. As long as the components used also feature G1/4" threads, they can be easily integrated into existing water cooling systems.

The compatibility of Alphacool GPU coolers with backplates from other manufacturers is not guaranteed. Backplates are often specifically designed for certain coolers and graphics card models, which can lead to incompatibilities due to differences in design and dimensions.

Each Alphacool GPU cooler already includes a matching backplate, designed for optimal fit and cooling performance. We recommend using the provided backplate to avoid potential issues.

Yes, Alphacool already offers water coolers for the latest NVIDIA RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards. For AMD graphics cards, models for the Radeon RX 7000 series are currently available, and coolers for the upcoming Radeon RX 9000 GPUs are already in development.

To find the right cooler for your model, we recommend using the GPU configurator on our website. If no cooler is displayed for your GPU, we currently do not have a compatible water cooler for that model in our range.

The supported sockets vary depending on the model. You can find detailed information about this in the datasheet and product description of the respective cooler. For some models, optional brackets are also available to allow compatibility with additional sockets.

Yes, Alphacool coolers are made of copper and are compatible with liquid metal thermal pastes. However, slight residue may remain on the cooler surface when removing it. This usually does not affect cooling performance, but it should be cleaned as thoroughly as possible before reapplying.

Choosing the right radiator size depends on two main factors: How much heat needs to be dissipated? and How quiet do you want the system to be?

Calculating Heat Dissipation:

To determine the required cooling capacity, add the TDP values (watts) of your CPU and GPU. These values indicate how much heat needs to be dissipated.

Radiator Size and Cooling Performance

For nearly silent cooling:

- 120mm radiator area → approx. 140-160W cooling capacity

- 140mm radiator area → approx. 160-190W cooling capacity

For audible but not disruptive cooling:

-120mm radiator area → approx. 160-220W cooling capacity

-140mm radiator area → approx. 190-230W cooling capacity

Maximum cooling performance (with fans over 2000 RPM):

A 120mm radiator with 30mm thickness can theoretically dissipate up to 350W, but it requires very high fan speeds.

A 360mm radiator (three 120mm fans) can handle about 420-480W of heat dissipation at a low noise level, while a 420mm radiator (three 140mm fans) can dissipate about 480-660W almost silently.

Radiator Thickness:

- From 45mm thickness onwards, dual-sided fan configuration is recommended, as more air pressure is needed.

-For every additional 15mm of thickness, you can roughly expect 35W more cooling capacity.

Fan Selection:

Fans with high static pressure (measured in mmH²O) are crucial for efficiently pushing air through the fins. Depending on the fan speed and pressure ratio, they can significantly affect actual cooling performance.

The perceived noise level is subjective and can vary depending on the system configuration.

The compatibility depends on the specific model. Many Alphacool reservoirs and distroplates are designed for D5, DDC, and DC-LT pumps. For more detailed information on the compatible pump, please refer to the product description and datasheet of the respective item.

Yes, Alphacool can develop and manufacture custom liquid cooling solutions. However, this requires a minimum order quantity, which is typically not feasible for regular consumers. Custom products are mainly produced for industrial clients who require larger quantities.

Custom-made or low-volume items are generally very expensive due to the high development effort, making them unsuitable for most end customers.

Before filling your system, disconnect all power connectors from the motherboard, graphics card, and drives. Use an ATX jumper to power on only the power supply and pump. Make sure your power supply has a power switch to turn the pump on and off as needed.

Start by filling the reservoir with coolant. Then, power on the power supply so the pump can circulate the water through the loop. Since the fluid will be pumped quickly through the system, continuous refilling may be necessary, or you may need to turn off the pump intermittently to refill the reservoir.

The pump should never run dry, as this can cause damage. Spray bottles are especially useful for filling, as they allow for more precise dosing.

We generally recommend using our clear coolants, as they are specifically designed for our liquid cooling systems and help prevent deposits and corrosion. Colored coolants can also be used, but these systems should be cleaned regularly, as dyes can cause deposits over time, potentially clogging the cooling system.

Regular maintenance is recommended after about a year. If cooling performance noticeably decreases or particles are visible in the coolant, the fluid should be replaced immediately to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the system.

Air bubbles can settle at various points in the loop. To remove them, the system should be tilted and rotated in all directions so that the bubbles are carried by the water flow to the reservoir. Gently shaking the system can further assist this process.

If you're using a system with tubing, you can pinch the tube at various points for 1–2 seconds. This creates a short-term pressure increase, which, when released, can help dislodge any trapped air bubbles.

Even after several days or a week of operation, some bubbles may still release, causing the water level to drop slightly. Bleeding the system is a gradual process that sometimes requires patience.

Disturbing noises are usually caused by air pockets or air bubbles that have entered the pump.

  • Air pockets in the system – If the system is not fully bled, please refer to the section "How do I bleed my system if air bubbles are present?" to remove the air from the loop.
  • Air bubbles in the pump – Ensure that the reservoir is sufficiently filled with coolant. A well-filled reservoir is essential for smooth operation.
  • Microbubbles in the pump – If microbubbles have become trapped in the pump, it can help to run the pump at full speed or low speed for a while. It may take several hours for the pump to expel the air bubbles, and the noises should disappear.

It depends on the specific model. Many Alphacool pumps, such as the Apex D5 PWM or the DDC310 PWM, feature PWM control, allowing the speed to be adjusted via the motherboard. Other models, like the DC-LT pumps, are controlled by a fixed voltage.

For more detailed information on the control, please refer to the product description and datasheet of the respective item.

No special tools are required for installation. In most cases, a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, and a small pair of pliers are sufficient.

If you need to cut tubes, we recommend using a tube cutter to ensure clean and precise cuts.

We recommend evenly spreading the thermal paste using a spatula. The amount should be about the size of a pea – using too much thermal paste can negatively affect cooling performance.

The paste is meant solely to fill in any gaps between the cooler and the CPU or GPU to ensure optimal heat transfer.

The included thermal pads are sufficient and appropriately cut for the respective product. Additional pads are usually not required.

Cleaning is only necessary if visible particles are present in the water. In this case, the system should be cleaned immediately:

  • Drain the system – All coolant must be drained.
  • Apply cleaning solution – Fill the system with distilled water and a cleaning kit.
  • Flush the system – The cleaning solution should circulate through the system for 2-3 hours.
  • Drain and refill – Afterward, refill the system with fresh coolant.

If stubborn deposits have accumulated in the cooling fins (e.g., on the GPU), please contact our support to determine the best cleaning method for your case. In this situation, images of the contamination will be required to offer the optimal solution.

Water only comes into contact with the following materials: copper, brass, acetal, carbon, glass, nylon, and stainless steel. For aesthetic purposes, other materials like aluminum can also be used.

The maximum recommended water temperature for Alphacool components is 60°C (140°F). Our products are designed to operate safely and efficiently within this temperature range.

Flow sensors: These typically have a 3-pin connector, which is also compatible with 4-pin PWM connectors. The speed of the sensor is read in a similar way to a case fan. The flow value can be determined using a specific table linked to each sensor. Check if your motherboard software allows you to input this table to display the flow rate directly.

Temperature sensors: These require a special 2-pin connector on the motherboard. You can check if your motherboard has this connector in the motherboard manual. If no suitable connector is available, there are various controllers on the market that can be used to connect temperature sensors for reading the temperature.

The RGB lighting in Alphacool products is controlled through the motherboard's own software. Make sure your motherboard has a 3-pin 5V ARGB connector to adjust the lighting. If no suitable controller is available, alternative external controllers can be used.

The size specifications for tubes and fittings are provided directly in the product name and are listed in the format of outer diameter/inner diameter, e.g., 13/10 or 16/10.

  • Tubes: The first value represents the outer diameter, and the second value represents the inner diameter. To find the matching fitting, the tube must have exactly the same designation. A 13/10 tube will only fit on 13/10 fittings.
  • HardTubes: Only the outer diameter is relevant here, as the inner diameter does not affect the fittings. The inner diameter is used only to specify the wall thickness of the HardTube.

So, make sure that the tube or HardTube and the fitting match exactly to ensure a tight and secure connection.
